This vibrant eatery invites guests to embark on a flavorful journey through expertly crafted Indian cuisine, all within a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly balances casual comfort with a subtle touch of elegance.
The menu at My Spice is a treasure trove for lovers of Indian food, boasting exclusive chicken and vegetable curries that showcase the depth and diversity of this rich culinary heritage. For chicken enthusiasts, dishes like the Aam Malai tantalize the palate with its mild creaminess, enhanced by crushed mango and the nutty richness of cashews and pistachios. Another standout, the Nawabi, delights with tender marinated chicken breast in a subtly spiced mango-infused creamy sauce, striking a perfect balance between mild and medium heat. For those craving a bit more intensity, the Garlic Chilli Balti Massala offers a bold, aromatic punch with succulent chicken tikka simmered in a thick, flavorful bhuna sauce infused with fresh garlic, chili, and coriander.
Vegetarian diners are equally spoiled with options such as the creamy and comforting Paneer Butter Masala, made from diced paneer bathed in a luscious makhni sauce blended with onion masala. The Kadhai Paneer delivers a vibrant and aromatic experience with Indian cottage cheese simmered alongside tangy tomatoes, capsicum, and hand-ground pounded spices, while the Sobji Bahar presents a rustic medley of mixed vegetables cooked with hot spices, fresh herbs, and the fiery kick of green chilies, tomatoes, and capsicum.
The restaurant’s beverage selection complements the menu with classic soft drinks such as Fanta, Pepsi, and Coke available in cans and larger bottles—perfect for pairing with the bold flavors on offer.
Dining at My Spice is as much about the experience as it is about the food. Set across two floors, the restaurant maintains a cozy and lively ambiance, enhanced by thoughtful touches such as being wheelchair accessible with minor assistance for accessing the upper floor. The charming spiral staircase adds a touch of character to the space, while the friendly, although brisk, staff ensure your needs are quickly met. Visitors have noted the clean facilities, with the ground-floor restrooms standing out for their upkeep, reflecting a genuine commitment to customer comfort.
Customer reviews vividly capture the essence of My Spice’s appeal. Regular diners praise the rich, authentic kebabs and curries, with one describing their experience as “one of the best kormas I’ve had” and “the pathia full of flavor, perfectly balanced between sweet and sour with just the right amount of spice.” The devotion to quality is echoed by comments about the Rainbow Shashlic—a colorful, irresistible dish that epitomizes the creativity and care that goes into each plate.

Location: Chester le Street. Parking: in the street (it was night time and NY eve, so no problem). Place: nice and warm, get busy, better reserve a table. 2 floors. Spiral stairs to get to First floor. Wheelchair users can get it but will need some assistance with the double doors (and remember to ask for G floor). Staff: ok. Saw them rushing here and there. Toilet (G Floor): clean. Food: good portion and yummy. Did we enjoy? Yes. Will we return? We booked another day for dinner already.
